If it is observed that a particular stock has made advance in the price ( more than 6% ) without any significant increase in the volume; in that scenario one must sell out of the stock as it shows that the increase in price has occured due to large sread between offer and bid price and same has happened due to illiquidity in the stock. Thus give more credence to price moves which occur on the basis of increase in volume or due to bulk deal as these people engaged in bulk deal might be aware of an insider information which is not available to ordinary publicies down.
